STUFF TO DO ON YOUR WINTER VACAY
If you’re one of those who loves your hot summer travel, where bathing suits and sunscreen are the core essentials, rather than freezing temps and cold cheeks, scroll through our winter activity tips below and you might just wanna opt for a winter getaway after all.
SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING
Do it like the Eivy crew and grab your snow gear to speed down a hill. There’s simply no bad day to go out and strap in, at least not as long as you are layered up properly. And nope there’s no need to be a seasoned pro, it’s never too late to learn a new skill.
SNOWSHOEING OR SPLITBOARDING
Grab your avalanche equipment, step in those snowshoes or splitboard and walk up the mountain yourself. Ski lifts can be all nice and stuff but if you want to reach those areas where all the best lines to ride are still untouched you’ll have to do the walking. For this activity, layering is essential, as your activity levels will fluctuate throughout the day.
WINTER HIKING
Don’t let the cold stop you from going out hiking. This is your chance to go full-on gorpcore, get that Instagram outdoor shot or simply explore new areas by foot. What’s super important is to layer properly, cause getting sweaty on your walk up and cold on your walk down is like the worst thing ever.
DOG SLEDDING OR CANICROSS
If you don’t have a high-energy dog yourself, plenty of resorts and winter destinations offer guided dog sledding adventures. But if you do have a dog who loves to run, why not give canicross a try?
WINTER CAMPING
Round up your squad, put on your warmest Eivy layers, grab your tent plus sleeping bag, and randomly choose a place through Google Maps to set up a camp at. Winter camping might not be for everyone but for all of you who think Wim Hof is THE dude this is your ticket to test and see if freezing really is your thing.
INDOOR ACTIVITIES
If you simply hate snow and cold air and rather prefer staying warm indoors while your squad is hitting the outdoors, look out for activities like heading to a spa or a chill yoga class for some zen vibes, or something more active like indoor climbing or going to the gym. Pro tip, the Eivy base layers work fine for indoor sports too. We like you even if you don’t like winter <3
