MEET VILDIS EDWINSDOTTIR
We caught up with 23-year-old Icelandic snowboarder Vildis Edwinsdottir to chat about her preseason and the stoke for the upcoming winter season, with Olympic qualis on the horizon. Hey Vildis! So fun catching up with you. Seeing your progression these past few years as a snowboarder has been wild! How’s pre-season been going? Are you pumped for the snowboard season to kick off for real now?
Hey! Thanks! My pre-season has been going really good, I've been traveling a lot. I've been to Kläppen in Sweden, Landgraaf in The Netherlands, Ruka in Finland, and just recently Switzerland! I am so pumped for this season – it's a qualification season for the Olympics so I'm hoping to do good in comps so I can qualify!
Olympics, that's sick! Any comps or events leading up to that, that you’re extra stoked for?
Okay so I'm always stoked on the comps I go to but I'm extra stoked for my first World Cup, when I get the points, which is hopefully in January, I will be competing in all the World Cups that I can go to!
What will be your main snow park for practice this season?
My main snowpark will be Åre Snowpark! It's my favorite place to ride. You can basically always ride somewhere in the park, even on the worst weather days you can hike the rails.
And last but not least, what Eivy pieces are always a must-have in your bag when you're traveling for comps and events?
My Eivy must-haves are of course the Merino Wool base layers in Black, the white Ball Fleece, The black Techlight Fleece, my Eivy beanie aaand my black Eivy buff ooo and can't forget the Eivy socks, they are my fave!
