FROZEN BABIEZ | INTERVIEW NOVEMBER
You just dropped the teaser (editor's note: full movie is out now) for Frozen Babiez, an all-female street ski movie, and we’re beyond hyped to see the full thing! Can you tell us more about who’s behind this project?
ISA: Hey, thank you we are also super hyped to finally share all our hard work with you. Behind Frozen Babiez you find Maya Casier, Isabella Tvede-Jensen, and Ellen Damsgaard. We are the crew behind Sushi Buffet and contributors to many other Bungee Breakers productions such as See You Soon and Bungee Breakers Open.
Essentially we are ‘just’ three Danish skiers who wished to see more femme street skiing films out there, so we decided to do something about it.
What was your vision for this project, and did it turn out like you first thought?
ISA: Our vision was to make a street-skiing film that shows how common passion and creativity tie women from all over Europe together and we definitely did that. However, It never really turns out the way you expect it to. A friend of mine always tells me that there is the film you plan, and then there is the film you end up shooting — They are never the same. Nor in this case, especially because we were trying to capture the authentic and ecstatic collective energy that makes street skiing so special to us, and you cannot plan that. So, you just have to see what happens and keep the camera ready at all times. That being said, I think we did succeed in capturing that energy and I cannot wait to share it with the world.
Did you come across any cool street spots while filming that you're especially hyped for us to see?
ELLEN: This year we tried to be creative and hit different kinds of spots. I’m the most hyped for everything that isn’t a rail basically.. - cause it challenges you to think outside the box to ski something different from your typical park rail.
ISA: I agree with Ellen on this one. We made a big effort to hit a wide variety of spots both in terms of difficulty and creativity, and I really think it has made the film so much more diverse, creative.
MAYA: I couldn’t agree more with Ellen and Isa. We were thinking out of the box which automatically gave us a creative flow. Spots were challenging and it was a lot of fun.
When’s the full movie dropping, and where do we need to be to catch it?
Dropping on Bungee Breakers youtube early 2025/ late 2024.
…And if you can’t wait to watch it, you can check it out at any of the below premieres. We’re pretty proud to present FrozenBabiez at:
• High Five Festival, Annecy, 27-29 September 2024
• IF3, Film Festival, Montreal, 27 September 2024
• Ultimate Playground, Innsbruck, 12 October 2024
• Eivy Premiere, Åre, TBD (perhaps November 2024)
• DK Premiere, Copenhagen, 8. November 2024
We’ve spotted some Eivy gear in the teaser – what are your go-to pieces for shredding?
ELLEN: Ball fleece and the gloves - so warm and comfy <3
ISA: For me it is the Rib- and Cheerleader Wool Socks, I know its a boring answer but they are just so damn comfy and nice!
MAYA: 100% the Ball fleece - I’m still living in that 8 months later. And then the Venture Rib biker shorts - even though they are shorts, they are really nice to shred in - specifically on warmer days.
We'd love to see some Frozen Babiez Blue items in your upcomig collection 😉 We love the blue.
We'll see what we can do 😏 So stoked to chat with y'all, and we can’t wait to see the full movie! You girls are killing it 💙
