Womens Wool Base Layers
What is the difference between your printed and ribbed wool base layers?
Our printed (or more like, actually colored fibers) base layers are made from a Core Spun fabric, a technique that increases the strength, stretch and durability of the fabric while retaining its incredible natural properties.
Our rib base layers are made from an airy, soft and supple fabric with high stretch, combined with the amazing natural properties of Merino wool.
Do your wool base layers itch?
The lower the micron count of the fabric in a base layer, the finer its quality, and the less likely it is to itch. With low 17.5 & 18.5 micron, our Merino wool base layers are itch-free.
Is Merino Wool base layers worth it?
Wool is a natural fiber, from Merino sheep grazing at high altitudes, where their wool warms them in winter and cools them in summer. With the certificates we have around animal welfare and the production's consideration for nature, Merino wool, (especially where a very large proportion of the fabric is wool) is more expensive than many other materials.
One of the distinguishing features of Merino wool base layers is their outstanding moisture wicking performance and breathability. Merino wool fibers absorb moisture from the skin and wick it away, keeping you dry and comfortable even during intense activities. The breathability and unique properties of wool keep you both cool when you're active and warm when you're resting, making these wool base layers perfect for all types of activities and weather conditions.
Is Merino wool sustainable
Our base layers are made of Woolmark®, Responsible Wool Standard and Oeko-Tex® certified mulesing-free Merino wool from Australia, which ensures that the entire chain, from farm to finished product, takes maximum account of animal wellfare and minimum impact of nature.
What can I use my Merino wool base layer for?
Our Merino Wool Base Layers naturally regulate body temperature, keeping you warm in the cold and cool in the heat, and they are naturally odor-resistant, making them perfect as first layers. Optimum performance and comfort for snowboarding, skiing, camping, yoga, hiking, traveling and all your other adventures.
How do I care for my Merino Wool garment?
To care for your Merino wool base layers, simply machine wash with wool detergent on the wool program at a maximum of 30°C and lay flat to dry. This helps maintain the fabric’s quality and longevity. When there’s no time for washing between your activities, just let it hang outside for a bit to air out, and it will feel surprisingly fresh, like magic. Also, do not bleach, tumble dry, iron, or dry clean. Don’t use fabric softener, and wash inside out with similar colors.
Printed Merino wool base layers?
Our base layers come in ribbed or smooth wool fabrics, in our signature Eivy patterns, prints, features and colors – Once you find and order your favorite you’ll never want to take it off.
