SABRINA CAKMAKLI | OLYMPICS 2026
Hi Sabrina! So great to catch up again! Most know you from your World Cup and Olympic runs in halfpipe and freeski — how does it feel heading into another big season and preparing for Milano-Cortina after so many years on the circuit?
It honestly feels just as exciting and nerve-wracking as it has going into my very first Olympics. I feel like the nerves and excitement never really go away and olympics seasons are always very special and intense. But to be honest, in the stress of it all I try to really soak in all these moments and memories. We’re currently in Laax for our last preparations for the Games and I’m just really trying to trust the process right now :)
When should we tune in to watch you in action this season — are there any key events or dates coming up that you’re especially excited about?
Well, our qualifications are on the 29th under the lights. Top 12 women qualify for the Finals. So hopefully you’ll see me again on the 21st of February in the Olympic Women’s Halfpipe Finals :)
You’ve competed at multiple Olympic Games already — with 2014, 2018 and 2022 behind you — what’s your focus right now as you prepare fo r another major year on snow?
The last few weeks before the games are always special because it’s such a fine line between pushing yourself and working on bigger tricks, but also staying safe and healthy. I’m honestly just really trying to listen to my body and mind (and my coach haha) and prepare myself the best way possible. I’m excited :)
And last but not least, what Eivy pieces are your go-to’s during travel, training days, or competition weekends at the moment?
Eivy is always with me, whether it’s a training,- or competition day. My go-to items are for sure the boxy sherpa vest, the loose fit merino wool top and the ball fleeces in all kinds of colours, I love them.
