TECHLIGHT FLEECE
Layering is essential when heading out touring on skis, snowshoes or a splitboard. As spring approaches and the weather becomes more unpredictable, having adaptable layers makes all the difference. To keep moving comfortably without unnecessary bulk, a lightweight fleece mid-layer is often all you need on the way up. That’s where our Techlight Fleece comes in. It delivers the right balance of warmth and breathability while allowing full freedom of movement in changing conditions. Wear it over a moisture-wicking base layer in Merino wool or recycled polyester, and keep your shell jacket in your pack until it’s time for the descent. On colder days, you can still add a fleece vest as a second mid-layer for extra insulation.
To avoid getting cold at the summit or during fast descents, it’s important to manage your temperature on the climb. Adjusting your layers along the way helps prevent overheating and keeps moisture from building up. With the right layering system, you stay dry on the way up and warm when it’s time to drop in. Spring touring often means shifting conditions — but with the right setup, you’re ready for all of it.
